For you locals, the meeting at the Board of Supervisors will be on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 10:00 A.M. at the War Memorial Building, 401 Van Ness 4th Floor. Please come. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi- bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/1998/09/16/MN84310.DTL BTW The article mentions a demonstration put on by about 50 cyclists. I did not see the cyclists. That event happened the night before our meeting. Skaters were not and are not involved in any type of adversarial situatition with the Mayor or the City. The San Francisco cycling community supported the skaters all the way on this one and we do appreciate their support. However, I want everyone to know that we have been treated with the upmost of respect by Mayor Willie Brown, members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, Muni, the Department of Parking and Traffic, the City Attorney, the Senior Action Network, the Pedestrian Safety Task Force and the San Francisco Bike Coalition. Paul Pillitteri was the glue that kept these plans together. Get ready to see him blush at the Skaters' Ball in November. Keep Rollin', D. Miles Jr.
